Matt Lloyd admits he waited a lot longer to get into professional baseball than he had hoped.
After finally getting drafted by the Cincinnati Reds this summer and spending time in Billings and Dayton, his eyes are now set on making up for lost time.
Now into his first offseason as a pro, we caught up with Lloyd to talk about the highs and lows of the last few months.

Edmonton’s Erik Sabrowski was on the right path to professional baseball.
After lighting it up with the Edmonton Prospects and Cloud County Community College, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2018.
But shortly after reporting to the Padres in Arizona, the left-hander learned he would need Tommy John surgery.
We caught up with Sabrowski to walk through the recovery and what’s next on his journey back to baseball.

The 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft took place from June 3-5 and we have a summary of players with Alberta ties who were selected over the three-day event.
Some of the players chosen in the draft moved here to attend one of the province’s baseball academies, others were born and raised here, while others became familiar faces through the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL).
We also took note of players who are related to some well-known players who made their way to Alberta to play with one of our minor-league affiliates decades ago.
