In The Cards

Who doesn’t love ripping open a pack of baseball cards?

Whether they be a brand new series or an old pack of junk wax that hasn’t been touched after all these years, the collectibles have been enjoying a comeback of sorts.

Collectors are also able to show off their cardboard in new ways thanks to social media, whether it is individual card spotlights or pack-opening livestreams.

To pass the time during the COVID-19 pandemic, we here at Alberta Dugout Stories started things off with an idea of giving our “All Star” teams of the best player cards from those who once played here (in case you missed them, here are those teams from Ian and Joe). That soon evolved into spotlighting team sets from the days when Alberta had affiliated teams.

As we have stated at the end of each of the stories, we are hoping to create an online digital archive of Alberta baseball card sets. Here is the first iteration of that idea, as we will continue to update this page each time we post a new “In The Cards.”
