Summer Games Trailblazers

It’s been a long time coming.

For the first time ever, female baseball has been added to the Canada Summer Games, with the debut coming August 18-24 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Baseball Alberta has named its roster for the inaugural event.

The Call to the Hall

The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has named its 2025 class of inductees and the group includes a home-run hero, a southpaw strikeout artist, a baseball pioneer, a national development guru and a pair of stars in the women’s game.

The Women’s Pro Baseball League is set to take to the field in 2026 with six teams in the northeastern United States.

Claire to Believe

Claire Hingley’s trophy case is filling up fast.

The Edmonton product has picked up a gold medal with Baseball Alberta’s 14U Girls team as well as a bronze and silver with the 16U team over the last two years.

Hingley wants more heading into 2025.

When Julianna Scott heard that Baseball Canada had named its Women’s National Team Selection Camp roster, her first thought was to find a post on Instagram and look for her friends and teammates.

She didn’t expect to see her name near the bottom of the first column in the official announcement.

Pioneer Piper

It’s an opening weekend debut that Piper Wiklund won’t soon forget.

The Edmonton product picked up a hit in her first at-bat with the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack of the Canadian College Baseball Conference on March 31.

It’s the latest accomplishment in what’s been a whirlwind few months.

No Ordinary Zoe

It’s one thing to represent Canada in one sport.

But to do it in two sports, especially as close as baseball and softball can be when it comes to scheduling, is very difficult.
