Girls Got Game

Efforts to grow the girls and women’s game in Alberta have been renewed with the creation of the new Alberta Girls Baseball League.

The three-team pilot season will begin this summer, with the hope of having girls playing with and against more girls.

And if Barb Northcott has her way, more teams will be lined up to play in 2024 and beyond.

Ashley Stephenson is used to breaking down barriers.

Prior to the pandemic, the long-time Women’s National Team member transitioned into coaching.

However, Stephenson maintains her role as mentor, ambassador and trailblazer as she hopes to keep building the women’s game in Canada and abroad.
