Peters Makes MLB Debut

Tristan Peters – an All-Star outfielder in the Western Canadian Baseball League with the Okotoks Dawgs – has made his Major League Baseball debut with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Standing in a place he helped build, Blair Kubicek was once again honoured for his vision for baseball in Alberta.

The architect behind Prairie Baseball Academy and an Okotoks Dawgs Hall of Fame member was recognized with the first WCBL Legacy Builder Award.

Outfielder Zane Skansi is no stranger to playing north of the border.

For three of his four summer ball seasons through his college career, the Gig Harbor, Wash., native has come up north to stay sharp in the college offseason.

You weren’t going to wipe the smile off Brody Forno’s face after the Western Canadian Baseball League’s All-Star Game.

It also wasn’t going to wipe clean his jersey after a head-first slide into home to score the West Division’s final run in a 10-3 loss to the East Division at a rain-drenched Seaman Stadium in Okotoks.
