Bennett Freiter’s long drive home to see family is about to be cut in half.
The St. Andrews, Manitoba native has become accustomed to the 1,350 kilometre trek between home and Okotoks while he has been rounding the bases with Dawgs Academy.
Starting in the fall of 2021, the catcher will see his commute distance hacked to 519 kilometres as he continues his education and baseball journeys at North Dakota State University.

A year later, he’s celebrating for another reason.
Soon to be 18, the young right-hander has announced he will be starting his post-secondary baseball journey with the Marshall University Fighting Herd.
