Girls Got Game

Efforts to grow the girls and women’s game in Alberta have been renewed with the creation of the new Alberta Girls Baseball League.

The three-team pilot season will begin this summer, with the hope of having girls playing with and against more girls.

And if Barb Northcott has her way, more teams will be lined up to play in 2024 and beyond.

In the blink of an eye, Madison Willan has somehow turned into one of the veterans of Baseball Canada’s Women’s National Team.

The multi-sport star was just getting her feet wet with the program when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
