2025 ADS All-College Team

It was another banner year for Alberta athletes plying their trades south of the border in U.S. colleges.

As we return for our sixth annual ADS All-College Team, we couldn’t help but notice how many tight races there were for several roster spots.

Medicine Hat Mavericks 2025 Preview

Seemingly a lock to make playoffs every year, the Medicine Hat Mavericks consistently field competitive teams each summer.

The Mavs squared off against the Okotoks Dawgs in the 2023 Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) championship final – a best-of-three series they ultimately lost in three games – and they bowed out in the opening round of the postseason to the Saskatoon Berries in 2024.

Medicine Hat will seek to find the same winning formula they’ve applied to the regular season year after year and adapt it for success in the playoffs, where the team will push for a return to the WCBL final yet again.

2024 ADS All-College Team

In looking through the last five years of the ADS All-College Team rosters, there has always been a strong contingent of returning veterans year after year.

However, younger players have been knocking on the door every year and, this year, they broke through in a big way.

We present the fifth annual Alberta Dugout Stories All-College Team.

Around the Horn

St. Albert’s Jaden Babiuk had himself another solid season at Valley City State University.

For a second year in a row, he’s been named Second-Team All-Conference.

What’s most impressive is he did it while switching positions from catcher to shortstop in early March.
