Celebrating the CCBC’s Best of 2024

The sun has set on another Canadian College Baseball Conference season.

Like others before it, the eight-week 2024 campaign came and went in what felt like the blink of an eye.

All Halen the King

Coming off a fantastic 2022 season, it was hard to believe that Halen Knoll would be able to find a way to beat it.

Instead, the 23-year-old Edmonton product thrived with the hometown Riverhawks, winning the West Coast League’s Pitcher of the Year Award.

When Halen Knoll isn’t perplexing hitters in the batter’s box, he’s making people scratch their heads with his escape rooms.

The young Edmonton Collegiate Hawks and Fort McMurray Giants star put on a clinic during the 2022 baseball season.

He’s hoping to build on that as he enters the next step of his baseball journey with the University of Mary.

The Western Canadian Baseball League is back in Fort Mac.

After a two-year absence because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Northern Alberta community is welcoming the return of WCBL action in 2022.

The team is hoping this will be the year they take the next step towards a championship title.
