It also wasn’t going to wipe clean his jersey after a head-first slide into home to score the West Division’s final run in a 10-3 loss to the East Division at a rain-drenched Seaman Stadium in Okotoks.

2025 MLB Draft Review

After 20 rounds of picks and more than 600 player selections, the Major League Baseball Draft has come to a close.

The prospect-plucking exercise took place in Cumberland, Georgia, with the first three rounds taking place on July 13th and the remaining 17 rounds happening on July 14th.

Among the picks were a number of players with ties to the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL).

Remembering a Baseball Visionary

Don Seaman, a key figure in helping ensure the Dawgs are safe at home in Okotoks, has passed away.

The baseball visionary and principal donor in the construction of Seaman Stadium and the Duvernay Fieldhouse – the headquarters of the Okotoks Dawgs of the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) and the Dawgs Academy youth baseball program – passed away on July 9th, just a couple weeks short of his 100th birthday.

Turning Point

Following another early exit from the playoffs in 2018, the Okotoks Dawgs coaching staff met with founder John Ircandia.

They thought they were being fired.

Instead, they were given whatever they needed, and have been on an unprecedented championship run.
