The result in the WCBL Power Rankings may not mean a lot of movement this week, but there is still time for squads to seal their fate … or change it.

From blistering bats to boisterous crowds to blazing temperatures, the 2024 Western Canadian Baseball League All-Star Game was a smashing success.

A record crowd of 6,064 baseball fans showed up to Seaman Stadium in Okotoks on Saturday, July 20th to take in the festivities.

2024 MLB Draft Review

The scouting report for the Western Canadian Baseball League is in, and the WCBL received high praise through the Major League Baseball Draft.

The summer collegiate circuit experienced it’s best MLB Draft ever, with more than a dozen alumni being selected over 20 rounds.

Over 600 high school and college prospects were picked in the annual event, which took place from July 14-16 in Fort Worth, Texas. Of the 16 Canadians who were chosen, seven spent time in the WCBL.

WCBL Homer Hopefuls Selected

The contestants for the Western Canadian Baseball League’s long-ball competition have been chosen.

A dozen sluggers – one representative from each WCBL club – have been picked to participate in the SR Bats Home Run Derby, which is part of the league’s 2024 All-Star Game festivities that are taking place on July 20th at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks.

Holding Steady

The more things stay the same, the more they’re ready for change.

There’s little movement in the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) Power Rankings this week, compared to last week, but the potential for more risers and fallers remains.

While the top four spots are secure for now, there has been some change in the middle of the standings.

WCBL Names All-Star Rosters

The Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) has made its selections for the 2024 All-Star Game.

The East and West Division rosters will suit up at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks for a full slate of baseball festivities, including a home run derby, on Saturday, July 20th.

Gulls Flying High

After putting together an 11-game winning streak (and counting), the Sylvan Lake Gulls have risen to the top spot in the weekly WCBL Power Rankings.

However, the Okotoks Dawgs won’t be going quietly into the night, as they get ready for a key series against the Gulls.
