The field has been set for the Western Canadian Baseball League’s 2025 Home Run Derby.

The event – part of the All-Star Game festivities taking place on Saturday, July 19th at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks – gets underway at 5 p.m. and it will feature a dozen long-ball launchers, one from each WCBL team.

Sweltering heat, a stuffed Seaman Stadium, and a star-studded cast of Western Canadian Baseball League talent punctuated the 2024 All-Star Game.

Despite temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, an elated record crowd of 6,064 baseball fans showed up to take in the signature WCBL event in Okotoks.

WCBL Homer Hopefuls Selected

The contestants for the Western Canadian Baseball League’s long-ball competition have been chosen.

Hammerin’ Hank Shines in Derby Delight

It was a long-ball competition that truly knocked it out of the park.

The 2023 edition of the Western Canadian Baseball League Home Run Derby featured a competitive field of participants, a special scene between father and son, and that key ingredient of plenty of dingers.

With the help of his dad, Hank Dodson of the Sylvan Lake Gulls was crowned the champion.
