Happy 60th birthday Damon Berryhill! A first-round pick of the @cubs in 1984, he had a 10-year @mlb and 14-year pro career, and might be best-remembered in Canada as a member of the @braves in the 1992 World Series. In 1998, Berryhill hit .257 with 14 RBI in 21 games for the Edmonton Trappers. #YEG #Baseball #PCL ⚾

#OTD in 1991: After an eight-year absence, the Pioneer League announces it's coming back to Lethbridge. The Pocatello franchise would relocate to Alberta in 1992 to become the Mounties before becoming the Black Diamonds for the 1996 season, which we highlighted in this story:

Attendance in the Western Canadian Baseball League reached record-breaking levels this summer.

The WCBL cracked the 300,000 mark for the first time for its regular-season games, with 305,425 fans showing up to 275 games in Alberta and Saskatchewan in 2023.
