He is the owner and founder of Absolute Human Performance (AHP), a training facility in Edmonton.

It’s the final countdown!

This is our last edition of Alberta Dugout Digest, our weekly analysis of baseball players from the province who are crushing it at post-secondary institutions south of the border.

With regular season play mostly wrapped up and championship tournaments in full swing, we are preparing for the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) season to start up at the end of the month while we keep an eye on postseason action in the United States.

Trojan Horses

Weather-tested and tough – that’s what makes Alberta baseball players such attractive recruits south of the border. And no American school added more of them for the 2019 season than the Colby Community College Trojans.

Nearly half of the Trojans’ 30-man roster includes players who are originally from Alberta or those who trained here.

Not only did Calgary’s J.T. Patterson hit three home runs in a game. He did it twice. In back-to-back games.

The Bellevue University Bruins star has been lights out in his senior season.

Right after that first 3-HR game, we chatted with him for a later episode of Alberta Dugout Stories: The Podcast.

Alberta Dugout Digest – April 23rd Edition

It’s time once again to check in on the best hitters and pitchers from our province who have traveled south to play college baseball in the United States.

We also examine the pitchers who have done the best job of preventing home runs, the strikeout leaders, the win collectors, the earned-run average (ERA) masters, and those hurlers who are great at keeping hits to a minimum.

The Out of Towner

It’s not easy for young athletes to move away from home to follow their sports dreams.

Manitoba’s Ryan Humeniuk knew that if he wanted to play baseball, he’d have to do just that.

He packed up his things and came to Dawgs Academy, which set the stage for a long journey in baseball that continues today at the University of Louisiana Monroe.
