New Frontier for Roy

Infielder Gavin Roy is flying high after signing a deal to play baseball professionally in Quebec.

The 22-year-old from Sudbury, Ontario – who was a First Team WCBL All-Star with the Sylvan Lake Gulls in 2024 – has inked a contract with the Trois-Rivieres Aigles of the Frontier League, which is a Major League Baseball (MLB) Partner League.

East Division Claims 2026 WCBL All-Star Game Crown

Entering the fifth inning of the Western Canadian Baseball League All-Star Game on Sunday afternoon, there was little in the way for offence for the host East Division.

In a span of four batters, the game at Cairns Field in Saskatoon flipped on its ear with the East driving home five consecutive runs.

Including a decisive, two-run homer off the bat of Medicine Hat Mavericks infielder Carter Roth to secure a convincing 9-2 win over the West Division.

On The Road with … Dayne Liske

Talk about starting a tournament off with a bang.

Dayne Liske made sure everyone could hear it when he clobbered a two-run shot to right field to extend the Gulls Prep lead to 5-0, which is how their matchup with Terriers Baseball would end in the opener of the Morneau Cup.
