After four years of hosting the stars of the Western Canadian Baseball League, the Okotoks Dawgs have passed the All-Star Game torch onto Saskatchewan’s largest city.

The East Division picked up its second-straight win at the Western Canadian Baseball League All-Star Game with a 10-3 rain-shortened victory Saturday.

Saskatoon Berries slugger Ethan Menard was named the game’s MVP.

Long Ball Launchers Ready for Derby

The field has been set for the Western Canadian Baseball League’s 2025 Home Run Derby.

The event – part of the All-Star Game festivities taking place on Saturday, July 19th at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks – gets underway at 5 p.m. and it will feature a dozen long-ball launchers, one from each WCBL team.

2025 MLB Draft Review

After 20 rounds of picks and more than 600 player selections, the Major League Baseball Draft has come to a close.

The prospect-plucking exercise took place in Cumberland, Georgia, with the first three rounds taking place on July 13th and the remaining 17 rounds happening on July 14th.

Among the picks were a number of players with ties to the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL).

7th Inning Stretch: Jack Jewell

Jack Jewell is looking to make up for some lost time this summer when he suits up with the new Energy City Cactus Rats.

The Sherwood Park native and AHP Academy alum redshirted this spring at Barton Community College, and is excited to be back on the field for the summer.

2025 WCBL Season Preview

Baseball heroics are on deck.

The last time we saw the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) in action, Connor Crowson was stumbling around the bases of Seaman Stadium and arriving at home plate to a championship celebration in front of 6,341 screaming fans.

It was Crowson’s solo home run in the bottom of the ninth that served as a walk-off tiebreaker against the Moose Jaw Miller Express and delivered a three-peat title to the Okotoks Dawgs. The hometown hero made the final play of the WCBL postseason a decisive and memorable one in the 6-5 triumph.

Who will play the role of hero in 2025?
