After years of rumours and discussion around the building of a new fieldhouse in Calgary, it’s time for council to move ahead with it instead of getting another committee to study it.

And as Joe McFarland writes, let’s also finally demolish the underutilized eyesore that has become Foothills Stadium.

The Calgary native was patrolling first base for the Chattanooga Lookouts in a May 3 game against Rocket City, when a hard-hit ball was relayed back to him.

Bear Apparent

Michael Yusypchuk is already turning into one of the most-heralded young Alberta prospects heading into the 2024 MLB Draft.

The 16-year-old St. Albert Minor Baseball Association product added to his legacy this summer by throwing a no-hitter during the 2022 Canada Summer Games.

He hopes to continue his dominance as he heads to Dawgs Academy and, eventually, Missouri State University.
