With a little more experience under his belt, Edmonton’s Andrew Yusypchuk is hoping to make more of a name for himself at Tournament 12 in Toronto.

Tournament 12 (T12) – a national showcase tournament featuring some of Canada’s best baseball prospects – is fast approaching and the annual event once again includes a number of players from Alberta.
We are bringing back our popular 7th Inning Stretch series – which poses seven questions to our profile subjects – to spotlight some of the Alberta athletes who are taking part in T12 this year.
We get started with 15-year-old pitcher Conor Pote, who is a student of the Dawgs Academy program in Okotoks.

It’s hard not getting butterflies in your stomach as you step onto the turf at Rogers Centre.
It will be up to Alberta’s coaches like Allen Cox and Les McTavish to keep them all at bay as the annual T12 tournament kicks off.

You could call it the luck of the Irish that Adam Macko ended up in Alberta.
The left-handed pitching prospect did indeed play baseball in Ireland in 2012 and 2013, winning a Little League championship that first year and finishing second the next.
And if it’s true that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity, than you can certainly call Adam lucky. But that seems rather dismissive of all the hard work that he put it in before arriving in Canada … and since he got here.
